OMFG…..
Ever since Marvel teased that the first phase of their MCU was coming to an epic conclusion, they’ve been slowly moving us to that point. First, they gave us our favorite Marvel heroes, including the inclusion of Spider-Man into the MCU. Now, they’re showing us parts of the final act for the now ongoing phase four.
And what a final act it will be!
As you can see in the trailer, Infinity War is shaping up to be Marvel’s biggest movie of all time (at least for now). Here we finally get to see all of the MCU cast coming together to false the biggest threat to the universe that they’ve ever seen – Thanos. The mad Titan, who has been pulling the strings of several major events in the MCU, has finally made himself known. And if you follow the comics, this is a guy who doesn’t know how to pull a punch.
Now I know how all those fans who first saw this trail during Disney’s D23, have felt. Now I know why Marvel was so keen on keeping this trailer under lock and key. It’s so damned epic, that even the most jaded Marvel fan is going to want to get in line (or online) to get their ticket. Seriously, Marvel, can I get my tickets now?
What still blows my mind is that with everything we’ve seen in the trailer, this isn’t the only act for the finale. This is only part of a two-parter, of which we’ll see the second half sometime in 2019.
My only question is, which heroes will survive this ordeal and which ones are on the chopping block. It’s no secret that Marvel has stated that several heroes won’t make it out alive following the events of Infinity War. And while those characters are unknown, sadly it seems like Captain America is one of them. Yes, as Chris Evans has mentioned some time ago that he’s ready to pass on the shield to someone else. His contract is up and he’s confirmed for Avengers 3 and 4. Of course, Avengers 3 is Infinity War, while Avengers 4 is the follow-up. Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr. was another guess, but he’s mentioned an Iron Man 4 movie in the future. I suppose we’ll have to wait until the events of the movie unfold to find out who will bite the dust.
Avengers: Infinity War will be arriving in theaters on May 4th, 2018. Please let me know buy my tickets NOW!
