While our fellow Xbox One and PlayStation brothers and sisters were enjoying the recent Destiny 2 Beta, the PC crowd was stuck riding the pine bench. Where exactly was the PC beta, was a common question I’ve heard and was even asked a few times (not that I knew). I guess it was that Destiny 2 shirt that I’ve been wearing as of late. However, I’m here to let those PC gamers know that we have a date!
As of August 28th, 2017, the Destiny 2 beta will be available for the PC! Yep, so get those PC rigs ready for some sweet gaming bliss. Trust me, after playing the PC beta at E3 2017, I’ve already tossed in my pre-order and I’m ready to finally play Destiny on my PC. Those that have pre-ordered the game will get in on the 28th, while the beta will open up for everyone on Aug. 29th and run until Aug. 31st.
Oh, right, PC specs. Bungie has recommended the following specs if you want to play the Destiny 2 beta (and likely the final release).
Minimum System Requirements
- CPU: Intel i3-3250, AMD FX-4350, or equivalent
- GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 / GeForce GTX 660
- RAM: 6GB
Recommended System Requirements
- CPU: Intel i5-2400, AMD Ryzen R5 1600X, or equivalent
- GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 / GeForce GTX 970
- RAM: 8GB
That said, if you want to play at 4K, you’re going to need a really beefy PC. Right now, a GTX 1080Ti is recommended, but I’m willing to wager that a GTX 1080 will do just fine as well.
August 28th, it’s a date… with Destiny…2!
Destiny 2 will launch on September 6th on PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will arrive a little later, on October 24th, 2017. While you wait, why not check out our impressions from the E3 Destiny 2 PC beta.
