The first Mega Man Legacy Collection was released for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC back in August of 2015. It was met with criticism as it lacked Mega Man 7, 8, 9, and 10. In fact, it contained less content than Mega Man Anniversary Collection which came out for Playstation 2, Gamecube, and the original Xbox. While the HD renditions and challenge modes were nice, fans have been asking for more. Capcom has now answered that with Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.
The second collection will feature Mega Man 7, 8, 9 and 10… and that’s it on the gaming side. In order to fill disc space, Capcom has added several extra features for the second collection.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will feature additional content such as time trials and remix challenges with online leaderboards to a music player and an extensive gallery of rare illustrations. Also included are the additional modes originally released as DLC for Mega Man 9 and 10, featuring extra stages and playable characters. For anyone who wants a little extra help with these challenging classic platformers, you now have the option to reduce the amount of damage received as well as obtain several new checkpoints throughout the levels.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is slated for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC via Steam on August 8. The title will also be playable at Capcom’s booth during E3 2017. We’ll be sure to get some hands-on with the title.
