Fire Emblem Warriors, despite already being revealed, hasn’t had a lot of details come to it. In fact, there’s only been one view of gameplay, and one character revealed for it. Well, that’s all changing, as Gematsu has gotten a hold of the upcoming issue of Famitsu, and has spilled some of the beans as to what’s coming.
First off, Fire Emblem Warriors is taking the Fire Emblem Heroes approach and having two new main characters created for the game. This will come via Shion and Lian (seen in the picture above). It’s an interesting move, and one that is better explained in further info that got revealed. But more on that in a bit.
Also revealed was that Marth is coming to Fire Emblem Warriors as well, with pictures showing him with Shion and Lian. Of the Fire Emblem characters, Marth was one that many felt should be in it. This is interesting though as now only four characters have been revealed, including Chrom from the reveal trailer. Adding to the intrigue, according to Gematsu’s translation, the majority of Fire Emblem Warriors playable characters will only come via Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates. While understandable in some ways, this will be a blow to those fans of the Tellius series, Blazing Sword, and Sacred Stones. We do caution though that they said “generally” that doesn’t mean that others can’t arrive.
Some other interesting tidbits were also revealed. The weapons triangle the series is known for is in Warriors, and the script is not only “huge” but fully voiced. There are even going to be Support conversations, but they won’t end in marriages.
So what does this all mean? Well, it means that Fire Emblem Warriors might be a much deeper game than we anticipated. Hopefully E3 2017 will reveal more.
