Naughty Dog has confirmed via their website that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will launch August 22, at a price of $39.99 USD. They write, “we’re approaching this project as a true Uncharted game – complete with its own deep narrative with complex character development, all-new destinations, refined gameplay, and blockbuster cinematic moments.”
It is clear they have high hopes for The Lost Legacy and are approaching it almost as a spin-off Uncharted game. Even the price point is over twice that of their previous standalone DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind, which launched at $14.99 USD. This, coupled with Naughty Dog’s comments, might suggest that The Lost Legacy is meatier than typical DLC.
In other good news, those who preorder The Lost Legacy from participating retailers will receive a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on launch day. Digital preorders from the PlayStation Store will receive a copy of Jak and Daxter as well as a dynamic theme.
Owners of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Digital Deluxe Edition, Triple Pack, or Explorers pack will not be eligible for these preorder bonuses. However, they will a digital copy of The Lost Legacy on launch day at no additional cost.
