It was almost two years ago on August 24, 2015 that Capcom, Digital Eclipse and Backbone Entertainment released Mega Man Legacy Collection for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC (and later for Nintendo 3DS.) Fans were happy that the Blue Bomber finally got some love, but many who already owned the Mega Man Anniversary Collection on Xbox, Playstation 2 and Gamecube, felt that this re-issue was lacking severely. The original collection featured Mega Man 1-8 as well as special games such as Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. There were even different unlockables depending on which console you owned the game on, making it very tempting to purchase all three versions.
The 2015 re-issue only featured Mega Man 1-6 and nothing else. The games were remastered into 1080p resolution while retaining their old school 8-bit look. While the game did feature a lot of challenges in its Challenge Mode, it still felt like a paltry entry compared to the original collection’s release.
Now, according to a Korean ratings board, it seems that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is on the way. The game is rumored to feature Mega Man 7-10 and is said to have a $15 price tag. According to the rating, it will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC (most likely, once again, via Steam.) Capcom has yet to make any official announcements on the title at this time.
