Bandai Namco announced that the Sword Art Online: Hallow Realization game is set to receive a large content update that they are calling Warriors of the Sky. A press release was sent to us which details the upcoming content patch:
Rejoice Sword Art Online fans! The adventure continues in SWORD ART ONLINE: HOLLOW REALIZATION as BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. announces the upcoming release of a free large scale update to the game which will be entitled, Warriors of the Sky. This update will include the Sacrament Dungeon 3 that will give players access to eight brand-new high level dungeons to explore and conquer.
The Warriors of the Sky update will enable players to enter the Stalvatos Ruins, a new stage in the game that will include new areas to explore. Players will also meet new characters Seven and Rain, both originally featured in Sword Art Online: Lost Song. Lastly, players will test their dueling abilities in the new Duel System that is included in the Warriors of the Sky update. Dueling rules are simple: players participate in one-on-one matches against other players or monsters for prizes in the form of buffs, treasure chests, other assorted rewards, and bragging rights.
Two additional free DLC content packs titled Lord of Inferno and Missing Chest will also be made available on the PlayStation Network Store for SWORD ART ONLINE: HOLLOW REALIZATION players to download. In Lord of Inferno, players will be able to challenge a powerful raid boss in the Stalvatos Ruins upon completing Warriors of the Sky. In Missing Chest, a missing treasure chest will appear in Teleport Plaza enabling players to exchange gold pieces for special items.
Warriors of the Sky, Lord of Inferno, and Missing Chest will be available on March 14, 2017.
Sword Art Online: Hallow Realization was released for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita on October 27, 2016 in Japan and on November 8, 2016 in all other world regions.
Wikipedia describes the story of the game as follows:
Hollow Realization takes place in Sword Art: Origin, a restoration of Aincrad titled Ainground, with intentions of research and development in the year 2026, three years after the original Sword Art Online event. However, unlike in Sword Art Online, Aincrad is one large floor, instead of multiple, while the castle itself was renamed to Ainground, where several monsters can be battled.
The main character of the game is a 14-year old AI, known as Premiere, that travels with Kirito. Although she is part of the game’s initial release, a later patch would tweak her “vocabulary and personality” in-game to a “specific character”, based on keywords in Twitter tweets as part of a promotional campaign featuring the character. These conversations with Twitter users would dictate her personality over time and ultimately decide if she would become a “good girl” or “bad girl” in-game.
Other prominent characters from the franchise such as Asuna, Leafa, Sinon, Lisbeth and Silica also featured.
