It figures the one day that I don’t check EA’s Origin to see what the system requirements were for Mass Effect: Andromeda is the day they release them. Oh well, at least we finally know what they are, which you can see below.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350
MEMORY: 8 GB RAM
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7850 2GB
HARD DRIVE: At least 55 GB of free space
DIRECTX: DirectX 11
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD FX-8350
MEMORY: 16 GB RAM
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, AMD RX 480 4GB
HARD DRIVE: At least 55 GB of free space
DIRECTX: DirectX 11
Now that we have the requirements, something is bothering me. The recommended specs are a GTX 1060/RX 480. Now while both cards are decent, they’re good up to 1080/1440p. Hitting 4K territory is a different story, however, EA and Bioware haven’t stated if the requirements are for 30fps or 60fps, nor the resolution. Yet, the CPU requirements are hefty.
Guess we’ll find out how the game performs when it’s released on March 21st, 2017. Or on March 16th, 2017, if you subscribe to EA’s Origin service.
