NieR: Automata is a title that’s being made by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix. Currently, the anticipated title is heading to the PS4 on March 7th…which is only 4 days after the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Why am I connecting these two things? Well…
Square Enix held a Q&A about NieR: Automata on Facebook today, and fans got to ask questions about the title with the developers answering them. Given both Platinum and Square Enix’s support to the Nintendo Switch (with Platinum promising a title from them and Square Enix already giving them multiple titles), it’s not surprising that someone asked if the game could come to the new console.
The answer though came from designer Takahisa Taura, who states he’s not only open to it but open to more ports in general. However, the real decision for this will be upon Square Enix, which isn’t too surprising given they are the publisher.
But, as stated earlier, Square Enix is giving a LOT of support to the Switch. So, if they feel they could make even more money by bringing it to the Switch, and feel that Platinum could port a quality copy of the game, NieR: Automata may be coming to a Switch near you.
