No one likes delays when it comes to games. That includes the developers, who pride themselves on putting out quality works. So it’s with great sadness that we have to report that the Studio MDHR’s upcoming title, Cuphead, has been delayed until mid-2017. That puts the release date right smack in the summer of 2017 to be exact.
For those who are unfamiliar with Cuphead, this is the game that everyone’s been talking about. The one that looks like an old school 1930’s cartoon and plays like a mashup of Contra and Gunstar Heroes.
Hey everyone, we wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936 but it will now be 81.
Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.
We are constantly humbled by your continued support. Love you all and can’t wait to get this to you. Without further ado, we will get back to work!
No worries Studio MR, just keep making the game look pretty and play just as well. I’m sure no one is going to fault you for that! Cuphead originally had an unannounced 2016 release date but will be released mid-2017 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
