As part of their E3 2016 Microsoft conference, Microsoft rolled out a new feature that’s coined “Xbox Play Anywhere”. But what exactly is it? Honestly, it’s perhaps Microsoft’s biggest announcement, even though they haven’t mentioned much about it. What it does is let both Xbox One and Windows 10 gamers to buy specific cross-platform titles. Doing this not only nets you a copy of the title for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, but it also lets you carry over achievements, game saves and other information between the two. Play a game on your Xbox One, pick up where you left off on a Windows 10 PC and vice versa.
The first title to carry this option is Gears of War 4, however, we’ve learned since then that it will also apply to Forza Horizon 3, Scalebound, We Happy Few, Halo Wars 2, ReCore, Killer Instinct and Ark: Survival Evolved. Going forward, Xbox Play Anywhere will be added to more and more games, all of which can be identified by any game sporting the Xbox Play Anywhere logo.
Expect to see more titles under the Xbox Play Anywhere in the near future.
