Recently dethroned WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has been suspended for 30 days for his 1st violation of the WWE Wellness Policy effective today, June 21st, 2016, WWE.com reports.
Reigns was added to the ‘Battleground’ main event after a double count-out finish in his qualifying match on last night’s Raw.
Typically, a first violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy nets a superstar a 30 day suspension. A 2nd constitutes a 60 day suspension, and the 3rd results in termination.
Reigns will be eligible to return to the company after Wednesday, July 20th. This is the day after the WWE Draft on the first live SmackDown of 2016, as well as 4 days before WWE Battleground.
As of this writing, Roman Reigns is still in the WWE Battleground WWE World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match between himself, Seth Rollins and WWE Champion Dean Ambrose.
