Dishonored 2 is coming, folks. Bethesda Softworks has confirmed today that the game will release on November 11, 2016. Furthermore, the game will be showcased at Bethesda’s 2016 E3 Showcase on June 12. It will be live-streamed beginning at 7 pm PST.
The original Dishonored took the industry by storm in 2012, bringing a great new IP to the forefront. A unique combination of first-person action and stealth mechanics mixed with a great aesthetic and interesting world led many outlets to name it Game of the Year. Players took the role of the royal protector, Corvo Attano, who is framed for the murder of the Empress and must bring justice to those who were responsible for the coup. Through the player’s choices regarding how they approached the missions, the world adjusted accordingly. For example, leaving trails of dead enemies in a mission caused the environment to become more plague-ridden and increased the amount of rodents present.
Dishonored 2 will let players resume the story of Corvo. Alternatively, players can play as the Empress Emily Kaldwin. According to Bethesda, “the story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game’s hand-crafted missions”.
Dishonored 2 is set to release on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
