Not even a game set in the pre-historic is immune to the day one patch blues, as Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal has been released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with a day one patch. Included in this patch (564MB for the PS4, 561MB for Xbox One) are several updates and fixes for the game, as well as a new difficulty level called “Expert Mode”, which makes the game a tad bit harder by making changes to your game-play, such as making the AI tougher, reducing your damage output in all. If you thought the game was already rough, you ain’t see nothing yet.
No word on if the PC release of Far Cry Primal, which doesn’t release until March 1, 2016, will also receive a day one patch.
Expert Mode Changes:
• Players’ health has been halved compared to Hard difficulty.
• Reduced players aim assist.
• AI shoots faster by 1/3
• Enemies in combat are not shown on mini map by default (they appear only if they are tagged).
• It takes the AI a longer time to “forget” you when you hide
• The aim assist box is reduced for several weapon types (bow, club, spear)
• The player damage is reduced
