To start things off, on December 1st, official Portal themed car decorations will be coming to Rocket League. Like usual, these items have a chance of being unlocked at the end of every match you finish. The DLC was confirmed by developer Psyonix’s VP Jeremy Dunham to be coming for PC and PlayStation 4. The following are the Portal items you can unlock starting on December 1st:
- Cake (Topper)
- Conversion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
- Cake Sticker (Antenna)
- Companion Cube (Antenna)
- Personality Core (Antenna)
- PotatOS (Antenna)
Fast forward to the 14th of December and the Winter Event kicks off. Featuring a new mutator mode titled “Snow Day”, the ball will be transformed into a hockey puck. The arena floor will also take on the appearance of an ice hockey rink. Just like their Halloween event (which I sadly missed), new limited time items will be available for unlocking. They are yours to keep forever, though the drop rates are lowered, and won’t be available as drops until next Christmas. The items are as follows:
- “Xmas” Rocket Trail
- “Blitzen” Topper
- “Christmas Tree” Topper
- “Sad Sapling” Topper
- “Santa” Topper
- “Candy Cane” Antenna
- “Holiday Gift” Antenna
While all of the previously mentioned items and events are available for free, Rocket League is coming out with an apocalypse themed DLC, Rocket League: Chaos Run. For the low price of $3.99 you get:
- 2 New Battle-Cars, Ripper and Grog
- 12 New Decals (six for each new Battle-Car)
- 2 New Paint Types (Camo and Sun-Damaged)
- 2 New Wheels (Ripper and Grog)
- 2 New Rocket Trails (Sandstorm, Nuts and Bolts)
- 3 New Toppers (Boombox, Cow Skull, Mohawk)
- 3 New Antennas (Bomb Pole, Radioactive, Retro Ball – Wasteland)
- 5 New Trophies
As always, the Rocket League DLCs are optional and will not effect competitive nameplate, as all cars and decorative items are purely for cosmetics.
