Well backwards compatibility is out for the Xbox One, well mostly and Gears of Wars 3 is one of the titles that was among the initial releases. Of coursing being one of Microsoft’s best titles for the Xbox 360 for quite some time and hot off the heels of the releases of Gears of War: Ultimate, it was a good call. However in light of the issues with some of the backwards compatible titles that are being played on the Xbox One, there has been some complaints and questions on just how reliable the Xbox 360 emulator actually is.
So for Gears of War 3, Youtube channel VG Tech, put the game to the test and recorded footage of Gears of War 3 being ran on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. For the most part the Xbox One version definitely dips below the mostly rock solid Xbox 360 30 fps, even dropping to under 20 fps at times. However they didn’t mention if the game was running off the internal Xbox One drive or an external USB 3.0 drive, as the later will run the games a bit better.
