While it wasn’t previously stated if Blizzard’s upcoming team based FPS would appear on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, thanks to a leak that was posted by accident yesterday by Gamestop., it has been confirmed that the title will in fact make its way to the consoles. Since then Blizzard has also officially confirmed the leak on the Overwatch Battle.net page as well.
This news come ahead off Blizzard’s Blizzcon event that starts today.
Overwatch will be released “on or before June 21st, 2016”, so an exact release date has not been confirmed as of yet. However from the news, there seems to be several versions available; an Overwatch Collectors Edition for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One that will cost $129.99 and is available on Amazon for pre-order now and a Overwatch Origins Editon for PC, PS4 and Xbox One Edition, which will include the following;
- 21 Heroes
- 5 Skins
- Blackwatch Reyes (Reaper)
- Strike-Commander Morrison (Soldier: 76)
- Overgrown Bastion
- Security Chief Pharah
- Slipstream Tracer
- Overwatch-themed content for several Blizzard Entertainment games:
- Heroes of the Storm™ – Tracer Hero
- World of Warcraft® – Baby Winston Pet
- StarCraft® II Portraits
- Hearthstone® Cardback
- Diablo® III – Mercy Wings
