Persona News Recap: Dancing with the Crew

By William "Shadowz" KokAugust 7, 2015

Time for another recap of the recent  Persona news. Unfortunately, nothing yet of Persona 5, but we are slowly approaching the release of Persona 4: Dancing All Night. ATLUS has release the first English dubbing of the game and it is shaping up very well. Cast so far shown are : Yu Narukami, Yosuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka, Rise Kujikawa, Kanji Tatsumi, Teddie, and the new character: Kanami Mashita.

Yu Narukami

Johnny Young Bosch reprises his role and the swag meter still is in high gear. Gotta love the Butler and Dojima alternate costume for him. Dancing to the tune of the opening of Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth: “Maze of Life“.

Yosuke Hanamura

Yuri Lowenthal comes back again for Yosuke. Granted some say he was a bit high pitch here, but it is still the same Yosuke we know. Always knew that Yosuke was a animal all along. Music here is the reincarnation version of “Your Affection”.

Chie Satonaka

Everybody loves Chie and so do I. Erin Fitzgerald reminds us why we love Chie. Yes, she is defintely Kung-Fu Fighting here, especially in the Bruce Lee costume. Yes, she did say Steak Power. Wanna know why people love Chie? This is the reason. Trivia: July 30, the day this video was release, is also Chie Satonaka’s birthday. Song here is the remix version of “Pursuing My True Self.”

Kanji Tatsumi

I accept now Matthew Mercer’s performance and that he is a great replacement for Troy Baker. He remains ever so manly. Love the bancho outfit for him. Music is the opening of Persona 4 Arena “Best Friends”.

Rise Kujikawa

Let’s get this out of the way. Yes, this is  NOT Laura Bailey. Laura reported that unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, she could not reprise her role. This has many people up in arms again, and some rightfully so. This is pretty much Rise’s game and you take away the voice that we grew to love in her game? Now with all that said, Ashley Birch is taking over the role. You will recognize her as Rei from Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth, Cassie Cage from Mortal Kombat X, or Sasha Blouse from Attack on Titan. Again, we go through the cast change with Persona 4. Personally, it just doesn’t feel right. It lacks the spirit and high attitude of Laura’s performance. Call me spoiled, but it’s just not the same. Maybe it will grow on me. Music here is the original “Pursuing My True Self”.

Teddie

Need I say anything about Sam Regal? His performance definitely grew on me and he is just laugh out loud funny. Of course he would be sporting the Elvis outfit. Beary entertaining. Music is the reincarnation version of “Like a dream come true.”

Kanami Mashita

If you remember in Persona 4, Kanami is the one who succeeded  Rise during the events of the main game. Though we only see her a bit in the anime, here we can finally get a good profile on her.  She is voiced by Rena Strober. Would you believe that she voiced Emerald in the 1995 version of Sailor Moon? This trailer is  full of innuendos and risque of the bunch. Our meat will be extra delicious?  Cow? Oh boy. Impressions for me her is not bad on her part. Feels a bit bubbly for me.

Now we eagerly await Yukiko, Naoto, Nanako, and the others.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night will be released on  PlayStation Vita in the Fall this year.
