It’s that time of the year again, as Walking Dead fans receive a fairly lengthy trailer but are forced to wait several months before the season premieres.
The trailer appears to show a rift between Rick and the returning Morgan, along with Rick being kicked out of Alexandria, but as show runner Scott Gimple mentioned during the San Diego Comic Con Hall H Panel, “We sometimes play with the truth in trailers”. This was the case with the Season 5 trailer in which Gareth and the Termites appeared to team up with our survivors in their journey to Washington DC.
“He’s been out there, he’s faced it. We are going to trust him. All of us.” says Alexandria leader, Deanna as her speech cuts to Morgan. However, this is most likely edited together to throw viewers off, as Rick and Deanna seemed to have come to an understanding in the final minutes of Season 5.
Corey Hawkins, who most recently played Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton is joining the cast as Heath, a well known survivor from the comics. He can be seen briefly shooting at walkers next to Glenn in the trailer. Check it out below:
