The PlayStation 4 has been out for several years now, yet there hasn’t been on single remote media remote control for the system. Instead, users had to use their Dual Shock 4 controllers to control the media functions of the PlayStation 4, however it seems that PDP has heard the cries of the masses and has come to deliver hope in the form of the first officially licensed PlayStation 4 universal media remote for the platform.
Currently up for preorder on Amazon and Gamestop, the remote is priced at $29.99 and will be released on October 31st, 2015. What’s more is the remote will be to control up to four concurrent devices to be setup on it, meaning you can connect your PlayStation 4, your set-top box, an A/V receiver and one other device to the remote. It also includes the 4 front facing PlayStation controller inputs and event a share button. However I didn’t see a subtitle button (Mandatory for watching anime), hopefully that gets added in or a button on the remote can double that function. Lastly the remote is Bluetooth enabled, so no need for a USB to be connected.
Expect a review of the controller when it hits the shelves in October.
