Oh My (insert George Takei’s voice here), this definitely has to be a first. As you may already know (if you don’t then read this), the state of Batman: Arkham Knight on the PC is about as polished as a turd, and after all the complaints from the PC gaming crowd, it seems that Rocksteady and Warner Bros. have taken a rather odd step. They’ve suspended all sales of Batman: Arkham Knight stating today, though I feel this should have been done sooner.
Via a thread on the WBGames forums that was posted an hour ago, it has been stated that all sales of Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC will be suspended until the current issues plaguing the title have been addressed.
While it doesn’t help those who purchased the game via Amazon or Green Man Gaming, who aren’t issuing refunds (at least not yet), if you purchased it via Steam, you can at least get a fund there as they are now offering refunds… if it hasn’t been over 30 days yet. To Green Man Gaming’s credit, they have stated that after the first patch that the issues aren’t resolved, they will only offer refunds, which isn’t fair as it forces those who purchased the game to wait it out. At the very least, this will prevent any poor unfortunate souls from picking up this sad attempt of a port.

Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,
We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.
Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (support.wbgames.com). If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds) or the retail location where you purchased the game.
The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played.
At the time of this article, I was still able to purchase the title via Steam and Green Man Gaming, though I expect that to change fairly soon, just not soon enough.
And for everyone else who picked up a GTX 970/980 that included a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight, well, there’s nothing that can be done for you, but at least you got a kick-ass video card out of it. A sad state of affairs all around, especially when PC ports were so damned good at the end of the PS3/X360 era, and now it’s as if developers and companies have completely forgotten how to do a good port again.
If you must play Batman: Arkham Knight, go pick it up for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and yes, I can’t believe I said that either.
