The Witcher film will be based on the novels.
The hype is real Witcher fans. Tomasz Baginski – the Oscar-nominated animator and director behind the cinematic openings for The Witcher and The Witcher 2 has confirmed that studio Platige Image is developing a movie based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher fantasy novels.
Truth be told, this isn’t the first time a studio attempted to bring Geralt of Rivia to life. There was a knock-off live-action Polish film in 2001 called The Hexer that received so much backlash that the author himself refused to claim it.
There hasn’t been any further details on The Witcher movie, but the third installment of the game will be available worldwide May 19th.
What do you think about this live-action adaptation? Personally, I won’t be getting my hopes raised too high, but it may have a chance as long as the staff stays true to Sapkowski’s tale.
